Hypnosis is one of my favorite tools in my practice.

I help people who are struggling and in need of some support. Some of the issues I treat are; anxiety, depression, grief and loss, work stress, chronic illness or invisible illness, medical trauma and phase of life issues such as going off to college, becoming a parent, divorce and retirement. I love to work with a body, mind and soul perspective to healing. I often attract clients interested in Spirituality who want to look at life through that lens. Together we work to help you understand your feelings and behaviors. With self awareness you can then begin to heal and make changes. I see individuals ages 15-95 for a variety of issues.
Brainspotting is a Brain and Body technique similar to hypnosis in that it also accesses the subconscious mind. Brainspotting is also used to treat fears, phobias and improve desired conditions as well such as public speaking. It also allows for one to connect to inner resources and can be a very supportive and healing modality. It involves listening to music that bilaterally activates the brain, talking about the presenting issue you need assistance with, using your visual field to gaze at a fixed point and monitoring bodily sensations. It often does not involve much speaking at all. The goal is a reduction in the level of activation of your presenting issue ultimately equaling relief from distress. Some people have a profound experience after one session while other people need more sessions for the desired effect.
Expansion Brainspotting
In this form of Brainspotting we not only identify the distressing issue we also create space and identify what you want to expand into. This is the Expansion Spot and it includes the solution to the issue and how you will feel and behave if this were your reality. In real time we are creating space in your brain and body for this desired reality to exist.
Spirituality is a big part of my therapy practice, together I work with clients to define and connect to their spirituality and to learn spiritual tools to help them in everyday life.

I first discovered Brainspotting as I was seeking a way to go deeper than talk therapy with my clients. I had been seeing many clients who had suffered traumas such as car accidents and being the only survivor, or being at a concert where there was a shooter. I was also seeing many clients who had almost died from medical procedure complications. In order to decide which modality to pursue training in I tried a few and Brainspotting was the one that led me to the most profound healing. Brainspotting also connected me to supportive inner resources that I still use to this day.
Hypnosis is another modality that I personally really enjoy as it is gentle. It can be very relaxing and the client is always in control. Hypnosis is truly a state of hyper focus and you can pull yourself out at anytime. The conscious mind is always active even while we access the subconscious mind. Hypnosis is safe and gentle, it is effective and can help people make powerful changes that they could not access through talk therapy alone.
